Music as a group work element

Reflection and Researches

This article presents music a medium which can successfully be incorporated into a group work. Music therapy facilitates and enables the attainment of diagnostic, therapeutic, relaxing and social goals. Music is presented as a source of non-verbal communication, motivating an individual to work and join a group. The article deals with rhythm and sound which due to its specific characteristics influence an individual, their behaviour and feelings. The methods included in music therapy are presented as well as the goals which we want to attain when working with the young using group musical activities.
