The present article deals with theoretical issues which have been important for functioning of the boarding schools.The most exposed issues are those concerning sociology, psychology and pedagogy. They also deal with project and team work, planning, organization and communication outside the boarding houses. In the second part three very important projects have been analyzed. All of them concern the first months of staying in a boarding house: arrival and communication with parents and youngsters, organization of the first day. Then follows the group forming; groups of course, can be changed during the school year. At the end comes the explanation how the group functions and which are its responsibilities. The article is based on the project Instructing Multiplicators for Boarding houses which was financially supported by the Europe Union.
