Estimations are, however, the majority of Slovene youth do not poses the skills, nor the knowledge needed for the critical evaluation of the media messages. The process of media commercialisation and the low functional literacy degree show us how necessary is to find the ways for youth media education. It emphasises the more systematic work in the field and underlines the educator´s crucinal training role in all educional stages.In the near future, it foresees good opportunities in the efforts for the functional literacy increase. To this end, media literacy skills should be reckognized as integral part of functional literacy.
