In a boarding school named Dijaški dom Poljane alternative educational methods of treating rule-breakers have been in use for more than ten years. The article presents the inclusion of students in a self-evaluation procedure. Successful co-operation during the implementation of alternative educational measures can be built exclusively on the basis of mutual respect as well as the participants’ feeling of equal co-operation. In a boarding school Dijaški dom Poljane strategies to lead the procedures of alternative measures’ implementation are based on reality therapy and the theory of choice.
