In the article boarding schools as educational establishments and the role of educators in them are presented. The importance of free time activities, which are an important component of the every-day education process, is emphasized. In addition the free time interest activity German language and the execution of it in the school year 2010/2011, where special emphasis has been put on students with outstanding knowledge in particular detached fields, is presented. Furthermore the goals, purpose and procedure of developing interactive material in a foreign language according to the education process with students are presented. The project was conducted into four steps: from forming initiatives and final goals, through planning and carrying out, to achieving goals and work-evaluation. The final outcome was presented at the competition Märchen und Geschichten, organized by the Slovene association of German language teachers.
