Dijaška glasila so redkost. Koncepta obeh – Cenzure in Triperja – sta pričakovano različna.

Abstract

The media are an important informational and sociological factor in how young people perceive the world around them. In the age of media oversaturation, students often find themselves in a passive role. Many don’t have the possibility or the chance to contribute to a written medium. Some freshman dorms offer the opportunity to write for a medium (bulletin, newsletter, blog etc.). Students bulletins are a rarity. The Boarding School Bežigrad publishes the bulletin Cenzura, and the Boarding School Ivan Cankar publishes a paper named Triper. The mentioned papers motivate young people toward media literacy while enabling freshmen to enter the process of media comprehension. This process takes some time. In today’s world of functional half-literacy or even illiteracy this is an important didactic contribution for those students who are willing to master their media writing skills. The concepts of both Cenzura and Triper are expectedly different, and keeping these differences makes any comparison between the two impossible. Within their contextual framework, the editors focus more on the paper’s concept and less on the empirical content of their articles. The hypothesis of this expert article is that young people do not form a homogeneous group when considering their writing skills. Heterogeneity lies in talent and psychosocial availability of writing. The article also deals with the wide and narrow media image. Methodologically, practical experience (editorial inner views or self-reflection) combines with the modern theoretical media education. Cultural education..
