Povzetek:

Prispevek izpostavlja dijaške domove kot vzgojno izobraževalne zavode, v katerih se velik pomen pripisuje ne le vestnemu šolskemu delu, ampak tudi (kakovostni) izrabi prostega časa dijakov, ki je ena izmed pomembnejših komponent življenja in dela v tovrstni ustanovi. V teoretičnem delu smo najprej predstavili dimenzijo prostega časa v povezavi z današnjo mladino ter bivanjem v dijaških domovih, ki omogoča enakopravno dostopnost do širokega nabora prostočasnih dejavnosti ne glede na socialni status dijakov, in v ta namen na nacionalni ravni izvedli kratko raziskavo, v kateri smo v slovenskih dijaških domovih mladostnike in vzgojitelje povprašali po mnenju, koliko imajo dijaki prostega časa, kako ga najraje preživljajo, katere so v domovih njihove najljubše aktivnosti in kaj v slednjih pogrešajo.

Abstract:

This article highlights boarding schools as educational institutions where there is an emphasis not only on consistent schoolwork, but on quality of use of student´s free time which is one of the most important components of life and work in such institutions. In the theoretical part, we firstly introduce the dimension of free time in relation with youth of today and their living in boarding schools, which enables equal access to wide range of leisure activities irrespective of their social status. For that purpose, we have carried out a short survey in which we have asked pupils and educators about their opinion on how much of the free time is made available to them, which is their favorite way of spending it, which of the activities in the boarding schools are on the top of their wish list and what can be done to improve them.
