Povzetek

Gestalt pomeni celostni pristop.

Abstract

Gestalt is a holistic approach. Human personality is a complex mixture of physical, mental and spiritual aspects. Everything is focused on the here and now. Gestalt therapists do not care what happened or what will happen. It is the present that is important. A teacher should become aware of ways pupils experience situations; he/she should help them raise awareness of their own needs and feelings; he/she should show them how to analyze their life situations; he/she should encourage them into making their own decisions; he/she should reinforce skills which give them the deeper understanding of themselves and their surroundings, etc.. It is essential for pupils not only to help them during difficult periods of growing up but also with recognising and developing characteristics they will require for creating a fulfilled life. The aim of this holistic approach of personality development in young people is to create greater motivation for work and learning, to help them become more responsible, relaxed and creative; it encourages trust in others and decision making, and consequently it lessens the delinquency.
